California Flower Art Academy

About Our School

The foundation of California Flower Art Academy is headed by Mieko Hirano who is a well experienced floral designer and flower arranging instructor and the foundation of this school  goes back to 1992. Our main classroom is located in the city of San Jose, the capital city of Silicon Valley.  The exact location of the classroom is adjacent to Cupertino and it is close to the intersection of freeway 85 and De Anza Blvd. In the city of Burlingame near San Francisco Airport, we have our extension class for serving San Francisco Peninsula area.

Since the inception of our school, we have been educating uncountable number of students. Many of them successfully acquired or enhanced their floral arranging skills and some of them are running their own floral design schools mainly in Japan.  Some of them are running their own floral shop in California.

Mieko Hirano was born and grew up in Tokyo Japan. She started learning floral art when she was at high school. She has a qualification of certified Ikebana Instructor and also the first class floral decorator. Both of them are licensed in Japan.  Our motto in floral education is providing practical instructions based on hands on training of person to person instructions close to semi-private lessons. In order to follow this policy, we limit number of students up to max six (6) per class. Typical number of students per class is more or less 4.

If you would like to begin to learn floral designs,  wish to brush up on your current skills, want to apply theory of floral design (which you may have already earned from a community college or online course, or want to acquire practical techniques which can be utilized for doing floral business, we  recommend you to join our school. We are more than happy to help you make a difference in floral art.
