1. Wide Range of Programs:
We offer a variety of programs from European floral designs to Japanese Ikebana, wedding to funeral flower decorations, beginner to professional levels, elementary to instructor course, one day seminar to official courses. Student can choose his/her most favorite course among SO MANY PROGRAMS.

2. Flexible Lesson Schedule:
Students can set up his/her own favorite class schedule well considering his/her convenience. Our school offers lessons on a regular basis (every week constantly). Students can start taking lessons at any time he/she likes.

Our school offers lessons not only on weekdays but also on the weekend to support busy people. If a student cannot spare time during daytime, he/she can join our evening session.

4. Reschedule is possible:
If a student would like to reschedule his/her lesson day, it is possible subject to the conditions that a student needs to make a request for rescheduling at lesson 7 days prior to the next scheduled lesson day (Request for rescheduling at a last minute is absolutely unacceptable). As far as this rule is followed,  students can make a rescheduling request with reasonable frequency.

5. Lesson fee is affordable:
The lesson fees announced on our website includes not only tuition but also flowers and some other materials used for floral decorations (except for Ikebana Elementary and Intermediate Course). Our school set up a lesson fee at a very affordable level. Despite of remarkable price hike of flower materials, we always try to avoid increase of lesson fees.

6. Authorized by Flower Decorators Association Japan:
Our school is authorized by Flower Decorators Association that is one of the best established and most prestigious floral associations in Japan.

7. Business oriented courses available:
In order to support students who would like to start their own floral shops or engage in wedding or funeral flower business, we offer business oriented courses such as Wedding Party Arrangement Basic Course, Wedding Decoration Advanced Course and Funeral Floral Decoration Course etc. etc. Students can earn practical flower arranging skills which meet specific goals.

8. ONE ON ONE instruction by experienced instructors:
Our school offers hands on training of ONE ON ONE instructions based on small group class system limiting number of students to six per class/instructor. Students can enjoy semi-private lessons at our school.

Once you have earned a decent skill of floral arrangement, this skill is considered a life time property and the value of this property will never be decreased and it stays pretty stable, rain or shine, regardless of the economic situation. If you are at a loss whether or not you should take a lesson for Ikebana arrangement, how to start learning Ikebana OR what you should start from for learning Ikebana, here is a practical and nice suggestion. Why not join Ikebana Short Seminar Program offered by California Flower Art Academy. It will cost only $98 (price subject to change) to join this program and this lesson fee covers not only tuition but also flower materials, Kenzan (needlepoint holder which can be repeatedly used for a life time use) and Suiban (flat type container specifically designed for Ikebana). There is no hidden cost at all. There are many people who cannot make up his/her mind to sign up for an official course such as Ikebana Arrangement Elementary Course which costs a little bit more expensive.

There must be some reasons behind you hesitating to make up your mind for enrolling in this course such as you do not know what kind of lesson and what quality of lesson will be done AND also you have never met an instructor who will teach you OR you have no idea at all if or not you can be satisfied with our way of training. All credits you earned from this short program will be counted for you to complete the Elementary Course. Therefore you will lose nothing by signing up for the Elementary Course after trying this short seminar program. Ikebana is one of typical Japanese traditional arts. If you are interested in Japanese traditional floral art, it is worthwhile for you to learn Ikebana. The way of making Ikebana arrangement is a little bit different from European floral designs although there are lots of similarities between these two floral arts. When it comes to learning floral designs mainly for doing floral business in the United States, Ikebana is not recommended. Depending on the occasion and situation, you need to make a right choice about the color of flowers to be used for your floral arrangements. Although there is no rule regarding the choice of flower colors, it is recommended to earn the knowledge of commonly accepted use of color coordination according to the type of floral designs which should match and fit the place, occasion and the purpose of floral decorations. While taking lessons of various types of floral designs by following the curriculum of each course offered by California Flower Art Academy, you will be gradually becoming familiar with color coordination.

No matter what kind of floral arrangement you learn, Japanese Ikebana or European floral designs, wedding or funeral decorations, people who are keenly interested in mastering flower arranging skills are apt to step up from elementary to intermediate level, from intermediate to advanced level and from advanced level eventually to instructor level.

Depending upon the needs and requirements each student has, California Flower Art Academy always try to help students enhance and brush up on their flower arranging skills. Take European floral designs for instance, many students start from Introductory Trial Budget Program.

Many students continue to learn floral designs by rolling over (transferring) to Fresh Flower Arrangement Elementary Course. Some students temporarily stop learning. A few weeks or a few months later, they come back to our school to resume taking lessons by enrolling in the Elementary Course. In this case, credits already earned from Introductory Program are counted for them to complete the Elementary Course. Some students who complete the Elementary Course proceed to Intermediate Course.

Limited number of enthusiastic students go up to Advanced Course and Instructor Course. The same situation can be found in Ikebana Programs and also Wedding Floral Arrangement Programs. If they feel that they have achieved their goals, they feel motivated to challenge higher level of programs. These people are very much task oriented and no matter what they do or learn, they are not satisfied UNLESS they reach a certain level of goal they originally set up.
